Dealer Purchase: New*
This type of loan refers to any new vehicle being sold by a dealership. You may purchase any type of automobile you'd like, including light trucks and SUVs. Capital One car loans recommend you specify a loan amount on your application you believe will be more than enough to cover your vehicle purchase, since your actual loan amount will only be the amount for which you write the check. Payments are monthly, and you can even choose the most convenient due date for your payments.

For a Capital One car loans new vehicle purchase, you may include any tax, title, license, registration or lien filing fees, any credit insurance or extended warranty/service contracts, or any other costs or fees normally associated with the purchase of a new vehicle from a dealer.

Your actual Capital One car loan amount will be equal to the total sales price of your vehicle purchase minus the value of any trade-in and/or down payment you choose to make. If you specify a new vehicle purchase on your application, but later decide to purchase a used vehicle from a dealer, your blank check can still be used. However, the interest rate differs for new and used vehicles, so your rate would be adjusted to reflect the applicable used vehicle interest rate.
